Volunteer Opportunities with The Trading Path Association Print E-mail
Sunday, 13 November 2005
Trading Path preservation is a large and diverse project requiring the services of a wide range of volunteers. It is our intention to preserve well over a hundred sites on and between the rivers of the southeastern piedmont. If you are interested in assisting, please, give us an idea of what bent your interests take.

We need:

River Rats to identify likely river ford sites along the rivers of the piedmont. We will provide general areas to be searched and guidelines for identifying fords, and the volunteers will then become our eyes in locating likely ford sites.

Preservationists to organize local preservation efforts once we've identified remnants of the old roads and river crossings.

Conservationists to inventory the natural assets of sites.

Historians and property researchers to assist in proving the historical authenticity of sites.

Regional agents to take responsibility for sectors of the path, serve as liaison with local preservationists and represent the Association at the local level.

Publicists to help us get the word out.

Host organizations to arrange public meetings at which we can get out the word about the Trading Path.

Office Staff to manage the website, donor lists, volunteer activities, the books, and any number of other activities.
